So, this is me & my dad as I said goodbye at the LR Airport.  (a sprawlingly gargantuan airport, too)

Take a look people.  This is me in 25 years.

My dad gets “Hey, It’s Kenny Rogers!” and “Look, Santa!” a lot.  He actually did a Q & A with Letterman once and Dave pulled him out of the audience for a game.  He got Santa on that one but he shouldn’t have been wearing a bright red sweatshirt.

I’ve flown overseas, with large groups, business trips, by myself and even flown across the country by myself as a 4 year old.  But by far, my favorite way to travel is with this beauty right here.

What things are you doing that you didn’t sign on for?  In the pace at which we work, live and play…we are in a different world than our parents.

My father’s job was simple.  Very cut, dry and measurable.  Most work used to be that way…and you left it at work.

Not anymore?  With connectivity, creative work, design ideas and no clear line on quality…  When is it enough?

Ask yourself if you’re doing what you thought you’d be doing?  Or is it all fuzzy like bad plaque and smelly fleece slippers?

Gina & I’ve been out of town for 2 days and we’ve already eaten at Sonic twice.

3 chili cheese, onion & jalapeno extra long coneys, no bun and a diet cherry limeade.  That is heaven.

Wash that down with a steak, bacon cheese & egg burrito, without the burrito…  That is almost as good.  It’s like purgatory.

Gina had a grape smoothie that was so good, she started yelling out loud from the passenger seat and I thought we were being robbed. 

The only thing that haunts me from Sonic is the carbs.  Those macaroni & cheese deep fried & battered thingy’s are amazing looking and I’m tempted to eat the cardboard display.

how dry i am…

Have you ever noticed that the air in airplanes & hotels is dry?  Not just a little dry, but dry like “wake up in the middle of the night feeling like you just ate a ziploc bagey dry“.  Would it hurt to get a humidifier on one of those babies? 

And stop calling the drinks and peanuts “complimentary“.  We paid for ‘em…now give us our 1 ounce bag of dry roasted peanuts.  See, there goes that dry theme again…

Sitting here in chicago with my wonderful wife…and we’re marveling at airport food prices.

Are they unaware of what a hot dog costs outside the airport? Or are their superdawgs really worth $7.99?

That dog had better be the most amazing piece of “beef & other meats” I’ve ever tasted.
